One of the worst updates of all time.

I am an avid Mens Health reader and bought the subscription to read on my iPad. The app before this update was fine. No complaints. This current update is embarrassing and completely unacceptable. Where are the interactive gifs and videos? I cant download older issues? Videos on how to do the exercises are gone -- isnt this a health magazine? Really poorly thought-out update that just shows how the programmers are completely indifferent, at best or hate, at worst, their customers. Way to go nerds. This is below

Id give it lower if I could

Cannot save old issues: "pdfs cannot be saved" And older issues are no longer interactive. Way to go making sure your dwindling customer base gets even smaller.

Garbage

This app use to be nice. Offline mode is terrible it often does not work. App has no way to visibly show you whether the full issue is downloaded. I read on my iPad often without wifi and offline mode is necessary. Design UI looks older and boring. Im not sure if they did this to drive people back to print but its clear no thought was put into this.

Cant access subscription.

Its actually a zero. I updated the app on my iPad last week. Ever since I can not access my subscription. Called support on Monday 11/21 was told it would be fixed by the end of the week. I still cant get access. Its almost time to cancel. FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!

Terrible Update

I dont normally write reviews but this update is just awful. All my saved articles are gone and now Im stuck between reading a PDF version of the print issue that has less functionally than the previous version. Really wish I could refund my money or roll back to the previous app.

Horrible Update

Just bought a subscription a month ago, and now the updated app came. Unable to download entire magazine, only articles. Liked downloading magazine for offline use.

The new update can I describe with one word "Horrible". I still have to figure out how to login and read it offline.

So bad it may lose my subscription

The new layout is so ugly and non-user friendly I will either be switching back to print (which is sad for 2016) or cancelling all together.

Used to be great

As many others are saying, this update took what used to be a great magazine app and made it downright difficult to use. They switched from a dedicated tablet version of the magazine to a rendering of the paper page, which results in the text being too small to read, no interaction, and an overall poor experience.

What have you done!

The app is poor, crashing a lot & the offline mod needs more work for stability. Miss the old version as it was more stable and easy access to the articles.

What am I missing?

Reviews made me scared to update. I like this though, same magazine with some extra articles available

Disappointed

Was hoping you would switch back to older format. Still feels like a clunky website, not a smooth magazine viewing experience. Subscription has been cancelled and app deleted.

Giant steps backwards.

The current version makes it impossible to see how much storage is being used. I had to delete the app in order to clear up a gig of space on my iPad and reinstall it to read my subscription content. It has also tied offline saving to a mandatory Facebook account. This makes the app useless for my main use case, reading offline while traveling.

Returning to paper magazine.

Its gotten worse. Its now a gateway to use my data plan and pull data. No thanks. 11/29 update has made it worse. App crashes even when you open it. Ive tried removing and adding the app and it still crashes.

This update is not cool at all, please return us to the old version.

Hate the new app.....

A horrible update to a horrible update. It helps that they added instructions but it does nothing to fix the problems. You can save issues but all it does is bulk save the pdfs from individual articles. If you do multiple issues it just stacks the pdfs without distinguishing which issue they are from. This is horrid ....... and has ruined the digital experience. What idiots thought this was a good idea?

Hard to navigate

I want to read the old fashioned way. I like to digitally flip through the way you would a physical magazine - and you cant do that with this new update. Everything is condensed into text article and the "PDF" option glitches up and doesnt load. App is no good.

Latest update is a big letdown

I love the magazine and have been reading it for years. The latest update to this app is horrendous. The layout is odd as is the navigation. In order to view offline I now need a Facebook linked account or use my email address to link across devices. I dont care about that. I want a traditional "magazine" experience that I can read offline without all the hassle and that doesnt take forever to load each page as I swipe. Ill give the app 2 months and if it isnt better Im canceling my subscription and moving on.

Horrible

Restore Purchases does not work on this app. Even when following the steps they have listed, when you begin your subscription, it WILL NOT give you access to the most recent issue. Rodale Inc. (app developer) will not respond to emails for tech support. To make matters worse, the current app version (4.0) crashes now every time you attempt to restore purchases. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. They will take your money but never get anything resolved.

Dont buy or update until it gets fixed

Oh what a mess. Who came up with this stupid idea of an update?? It makes the app unusable. If it doesnt get fixed soon I am cancelling my subscription.
